ANZA-BORREGO DESERT PHOTO CONTEST WINNERS

Congratulations Hannah, Isabella and Sita!

Congratulations to three of Borrego Springs Elementary students, Hannah Harper, Isabella Daniel, and Sita Antel for being among this year’s winners of the Anza-Borrego Desert Photo Contest. Hannah and Isabella tied for second place honors and Sita received third place honors in the Youth Division.

Hannah’s photograph is a landscape showing a rushing stream of water dancing across the rocks. Isabella’s photograph depicts a young woman sitting atop a rocky point looking out across a seemingly endless desert landscape. Like Isabella, Sita has captured someone sitting quietly, looking out into the desert’s grandeur.

The Anza-Borrego Desert Photo Contest is a highly competitive contest sponsored each year by the Anza-Borrego Institute. The theme of the contest is the unique and natural beauty of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park and the Institute receives literally hundreds of images from photographers all over the country. It is quite a feat to be recognized as a winner in this prestigious competition and we are very proud of Hannah, Isabella and Sita for achieving this recognition!

  1. Thanks for putting stuff like this up here. I think it is important to give our kids a place to shine and to reward them for doing creative, constructive things. We see way too much of the things that go wrong publicized and not nearly enough about the things that go right.

These kids have created some beautiful photos and are doing things right. Hats off to them and to their parents and teachers!

    Let’s see more of this.

  2. Thanks for the encouragement—we agree that we need to recognize the super kids in our community, and there are a lot of them! Keep your comments coming
